LAST BLOG :(

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog! I can’t believe this is already our final week of blogging for the semester. I’m kind of sad that it’s ending, but I’ve really enjoyed getting to know everyone through your posts and during class. This semester has been a blast, but I’m definitely excited for Christmas break. My break is going to be packed. I’m heading back to work at the best job ever, The Grainery. I worked there over the summer and had so much fun. We have live country music every night. I’ll also be spending a lot of time with my family. On the 23rd, everyone comes to my house where we open a few gifts, share a nice meal, and play games. The next day we head to my Papaw’s house to do it all over again. On Christmas morning, my brother and I always start with our tradition: whoever finds the pickle ornament in the tree gets to open the first gift. After that, we open presents as a family and eat breakfast together. Then I FaceTime my sister so we can show each other everyt...

Thanksgiving Break

Image
Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog. I hope everyone had a great break. Thanksgiving break this year was one of those weeks that somehow felt both relaxing and eventful at the same time. I did so many things over break so that is what I wanted to share. I got home on Friday after my morning classes and took a long nap. I didn’t do anything on my first weekend home except for chilling in my bedroom with my parents and my dog. So here is a little timeline of everything I did once the weekend was over. Tuesday: DWTS Finale Night My week kicked off on Tuesday with the Dancing With the Stars finale. I was fully locked in and rooting hard for Alix Earle to win. Every performance she did this season was such a surprise, and honestly, I loved watching her confidence grow. Even though the finale didn’t go the way I hoped, it was still so much fun to watch. (She got robbed!) Wednesday: Stranger Things Season 5 On Wednesday, I went full binge mode and watched the first four episodes of St...

Surprise!

Hello, welcome back! I know Aggie told us to write about the book but if I am being 100% honest, I didn't really read the book. But I still loved the Power Points she made!  Yesterday I decided to surprise my brother at his wrestling match. He had no idea I was coming home. I turned my location off and had called him that day with some dumb excuse as to why I couldn't make it. But when I walked into the gym and saw him warming up, his excitement made it all worth it. I waited until he finished stretching to tap him on the shoulder. The look on his face with a huge smile made me so happy, this surprise was perfect. He immediately pulled me into one of those sweaty wrestling hugs that only siblings can get away with. Seeing him so fired up before his match made me even more excited. Plus, being able to watch him compete after that, knowing I got to be the unexpected motivation in the crowd, made cheering for him feel different, there was more meaning behind it. It reminded me ...

My other Family

Hello, welcome back to my blog! This semester has been incredibly busy, as many of you know from my previous posts. Even with all the chaos, it’s been one of the most rewarding semesters yet. Full of growth, challenges, and memories that I’ll carry with me forever. As we head into the OAC Tournament this week, I’ve been reflecting on this year’s volleyball season. It’s hard to believe how far we’ve come since August. With half of the team being freshmen and a few transfers joining, including myself, we started out as a brand new group still figuring out who we were. Throughout the season, we faced our fair share of ups and downs, moments where we struggled to find our why, our energy spark, and that deep desire to compete for one another.  We had countless team talks and exercises to help us get back on track. Some days, things clicked perfectly and other days, it felt like we were still searching. But through all of it, I began to realize that my why wasn’t something I needed to f...

What If?

Hey guys, welcome back to my blog! Every so often, I catch myself thinking about how different life could look if I hadn’t decided to study communications in college. I always think about what if’s, and I realize how many directions my life could have gone. When I first got to college, I was studying criminal justice and forensics. Through high school I always enjoyed science, and I was really into solving crimes. I would watch shows and tik toks about many careers and was so excited. Once I got to school, I started to hate the work load and just what I was learning in general. I was clueless on what I would switch to, so I started to think about other things that I liked. This is how I came to be a social media and communications major. I’ve always loved connecting with people and finding creative things to do each day. Whether it’s through social media or everyday conversations, I find joy in understanding ideas that make people so creative. So that is how I realized that communicati...

Wrestling Season !!!!

Image
Hey guys, welcome back to my blog. My favorite season of the year is finally coming up, wrestling season! My brother has wrestled for many years, and he is going to be a senior at Otterbein University. Growing up with an older brother has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. From the time we were little, I’ve always looked up to him. I’ve seen him push through challenges most people never witness. I’ve watched him get up at the crack of dawn, put on multiple layers of clothes to lose a few pounds, not eat at Thanksgiving or Christmas, and run for hours on end. He is always doing the little things and constantly motivates me. Watching him grow up has been really amazing. Because of him, I always wanted to wrestle, even though I never would, he made it look so fun. I’m so proud, but I’m also so aware that this is the final chapter of something he’s poured his life into. I can’t wait to cheer for him one more time, to see him compete with that same fire that’s been there s...

Midterm stress

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog. I have been super busy these past few weeks, but the reason being is primarily me. I have been procrastinating about everything and I could not tell you why! I need to get back into a solid routine so I can power through these last few weeks of the semester. Everything just keeps piling on since we just got to midterms and mid-semester.  I really enjoy my classes this semester but have been looking forward to scheduling for the spring semester. The only issue I have is that my Degree Works has been messed up since I transferred here, and I could not tell you what I still need to take. I have been questioning if I should load up on courses next semester or keep it light like I usually do. I would honestly like to have a busy semester so I can get it out of the way, but with me being a huge procrastinator, I don't know if I can trust myself.  One of my favorite things about studying communication is the variety of courses you can take. Th...
