Wrestling Season !!!!

Image
Hey guys, welcome back to my blog. My favorite season of the year is finally coming up, wrestling season! My brother has wrestled for many years, and he is going to be a senior at Otterbein University. Growing up with an older brother has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. From the time we were little, I’ve always looked up to him. I’ve seen him push through challenges most people never witness. I’ve watched him get up at the crack of dawn, put on multiple layers of clothes to lose a few pounds, not eat at Thanksgiving or Christmas, and run for hours on end. He is always doing the little things and constantly motivates me. Watching him grow up has been really amazing. Because of him, I always wanted to wrestle, even though I never would, he made it look so fun. I’m so proud, but I’m also so aware that this is the final chapter of something he’s poured his life into. I can’t wait to cheer for him one more time, to see him compete with that same fire that’s been there s...

Midterm stress

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog. I have been super busy these past few weeks, but the reason being is primarily me. I have been procrastinating about everything and I could not tell you why! I need to get back into a solid routine so I can power through these last few weeks of the semester. Everything just keeps piling on since we just got to midterms and mid-semester.  I really enjoy my classes this semester but have been looking forward to scheduling for the spring semester. The only issue I have is that my Degree Works has been messed up since I transferred here, and I could not tell you what I still need to take. I have been questioning if I should load up on courses next semester or keep it light like I usually do. I would honestly like to have a busy semester so I can get it out of the way, but with me being a huge procrastinator, I don't know if I can trust myself.  One of my favorite things about studying communication is the variety of courses you can take. Th...

Fall Break

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog! I hope everyone had a wonderful few days off from school for Fall break. My break was short and sweet, but I wanted to share the fun things I did while being at home. To start off the weekend, we had a volleyball game here at home against Muskingum. It was an amazing match. We went into five sets and competed with the Muskies the whole day. We ended the game day with lunch to celebrate our three seniors, Chelsea, Madison, and Elizabeth. Even though we didn’t get the win, we still had a memorable time honoring our upperclassmen. After lunch, I decided to head home to Plain City. I have a short hour drive that consists of a singular phone call with my best friend, Mallory. Once I arrived home, my parents and I sat on the couch and watched some TV.       On Sunday, I woke up early to take my dog on a walk, and then we played fetch with his favorite tennis ball. After that, I went cycling with my Mommy, and we tre...

Loss within Volleyball

Hey everyone, welcome back to my blog. This week I wanted to touch on how to deal with loss. The loss I wanted to discuss is within volleyball. I haven't really experienced anything like this before and I have just been trying to figure it out day by day. Ohio Northern Volleyball exceeds excellence and has had an amazing program for many years. This season hasn't really been going our way, but I honestly couldn't tell you why. Each person on this team is an amazing person and player. Through every single practice you can tell that all 22 girls want it. We get into the gym and work extremely hard, but when we get matched up against our opponents we fall short. At my last university, we did not have a good program. The environment was unhealthy, and you could tell that nobody cared for any aspect of the game. We had losing seasons for the two seasons I competed there, but here, it's different. We care, we show up, and we bring the love back into volleyball. If I was talki...

Christmas

Image
Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog. This week I wanted to keep my blog interesting and fun so I thought why not keep the holiday’s going and write about Christmas. I am a huge fan of Christmas. I love the weather, especially when it snows, and I LOVE the music. But more importantly, I love getting together with my family. We don’t travel far during the holidays because we all live within 30 minutes from each other which is very nice. Every year we do Christmas Eve Eve at my Mimi’s, Christmas Eve at my Papaw’s, and we do Christmas Day at my Aunts house. An interesting thing we do at my Mimi’s is travel down the road to the local Walmart and get all of the supplies we need to make a ton of different Christmas cookies. My favorite sweet treat to make is puppy chow or the 7 layer bars. Every year at my Papaw’s we do a secret santa gift exchange. One year my Papaw received cheetah print underwear, let's just say he wasn’t too happy but everyone else was. On Christmas Day at my Aunt’...
